The People's Champion! Darren Clarke wins the 2011 Open Championship

After catching bits and pieces of the 3rd round action on Saturday night, I fell asleep with no clue as to who could win the most coveted trophy in golf. Going into the final round yesterday it seemed like the weather would again play a major part in separating the good, the bad, and the ugly. But without a doubt, there were moments where the players made some magic shots in spite of the challenging conditions at Royal St George's.

After two days of the Open Championship at Royal St George's we've seen everything that links golf is supposed to bring. Shots that land nicely have ended up way off target, the wind has thrown many shots away, and true to the spectacle of the occasion, the leaderboard has been turned on its head from the day before.

What's up! Sorry for the long absence but there's been so much going on that I'll admit that I've neglected to write anything for quite a while. But it couldn't be a more perfect time to start writing again with the first round of the 2011 Open Championship (a.k.a. the British Open) starting in a few moments.

As if we didn't have enough fun running around hitting things all day on our first day in Medan, we had another tee time at the Graha Metropolitan Golf Club for some more golfing nonsense and exercise. Originally we had booked a late morning start, around 9am. But for reasons beyond our control (hmmm), all of us woke up for breakfast around 845am and we figured that we'd show up and play in the afternoon.

My golfing buddies and I decided that we'd kick off 2011 with a Best Of Eleven games series of golf matches. We had always wanted to have a game overseas and after hearing good things about Medan, Indonesia and the golf courses there, we got in touch with Liberty Golf Services and sorted ourselves out. So we planned for 3 days and 2 nights in Medan with a couple of rounds of golf to get our series going.

Just wanted to share what was buzzing around Twitter and Youtube a couple months back. If you don't know who Ben Crane is, well...he's a pro golfer playing on the American PGA Tour, who up until mid October this year I really didn't really know either. 

Prologue

In hindsight, I guess I should've started this blog a long time ago. I suppose a fear of talking about myself combined with steadfast laziness kept me from doing so. That being said, a new chapter shall open here for all to see and hopefully I can share with you the lighter side of the great game of GOLF :)
